I considered many different floor coverings, and in the end went for an interlocking PVC tile, that is resistant to chemicals, chipping and scratching, and is easy to work on (and warm enough to sleep on when the missus boots me out the house for spending too much time on the project!). Furthermore, if any part of the floor gets damaged, one can just clip out the damaged tile and drop in a new one! I have been very happy with this floor, and would definitely use it again.
